About 15 years ago, I was diagnosed with
exercise induced asthma.
That means, when you exercise,
you have a small bout of asthma
and you cough and struggle to breathe
for about 15 minutes,
then it goes away.
No biggie.
They gave me an inhaler and sent me home.
I never used the thing -
so after a while, I chucked it.
I was wishing I hadn't this week,
when, on Sunday, I started having trouble breathing
and getting massive headaches.
It lasted through Friday before I finally went to the doctor.
(after I had taken 10 ibuprofen in 3 hours to get rid of
Thursday's headache!)
(which..
I found out on Friday...
could pretty much destroy my kidneys,
so, yeah - there's that)
Anyway.
Turns out this stupid air here in Utah
got ahold of my lungs last week
(when...
according to the doc...
the air quality here was the
worst.it.has.ever.been.)
and I was having an asthma attack,
that wouldn't let go.
So - I got my inhaler again,
and a steroid to go with it
(BONUS!)
and I'm good to go again.
I can't believe how much better I feel today.
ONE DAY LATER.
I am so appreciative of my good health.
I take it for granted.
I'm a pretty overall healthy gal.
And you don't think about it
until you're sick.
A headache every day -
I wasn't functioning.
I was laying around,
putting off everything -
not helping my girls with homework,
shushing everyone,
wanting to cancel all my students
but suffering through instead,
don't even TALK to me about dinner!
It's good to get back to full health.
And feel ready to conquer the world again.
Thank goodness for modern medicine.
And GO AWAY crappy air!
Come visit - the air is clear :)
